Petroleum Engineering is one of the prime branches of the engineering profession that focuses in reservoir,drilling and production disciplines of hydrocarbon resources in onshore and offshore fields during the exploration, development and operation phases. Varieties of opportunities and rewarding careers are in existence for Petroleum Engineering Graduates in the fields of oil and gas exploration, reservoir modeling and management, drilling and production operations and marketing of oil and gas. The Petroleum Engineering Programme at the AMET University has a modern curriculum that emphasizes not only Petroleum Engineering fundamentals but also the business management processes that are applied to reach optimal engineering options for field development and exploitation of hydrocarbon.

Ans : dear u can undergo GEC course to get converted to marine engineer. The GEC course is for the duration of around 15 months and the entire training is completed in 3 phases as under: Phase 1: 5 months Pre-Sea training at Academy in Bangkok Phase 2: 8 months Sea training on board Ship. (You shall be paid a stipend of around USD 200 – 400 per month depending on the Ship. (The Institute assures 100/% Placements for sea training on board ships which is a pre - requisite to get the job with the Shipping Companies.) The minimum eligibility for courses in nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.
Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.

Q : Which institutes provide the deck cadet course in india?

Ans : COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 20000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month.
