GATE are usually the derivation of fundamentals and preparation of GATE is an ongoing process and is supposed to take place in varied stages. Prepare your best with the fundamentals and then test yourself those fundamentals.

The questions put in the paper are objective type with correct alternative to be selected. Tips for Gate preparation includes collecting the study material based on the syllabus, books relevant to the subject problem oriented and fundamental and basic concepts. Collecting previous years question papers for practice is a good way. Good guide books based on GATE examination and also some books on knowledge on the subject are also available.

Sir I have qualified GATE with 85 percentile in 2009. But fail to get Ph.D admission in IITs. Now again i am preparing and want to raise my percentiles upto 99. I know working hard is the key but could u please recommend any book with question samples for Biotechnology along with answer keys. as my Masters is in Biotech and i am choosing Biotechnology as subject in GATE 2012. Thanks

Dear Sir , Few days back I have apllied for gate 2012 examination through online with application number 2026818 and after that when I have gone through the generated pdf files I came to know that I have entered the wrong discipline (Computer Science instead of Information science ) and as still now I didn't post the application form to gate office shall I make any corrections in it or what shall I do .
