Mussoorie Modern School was established in 1970 by Mussoorie Modern Education Society. It is affiliated to the Council of Indian school Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Pupils are prepared for I.C.S.E. (Year - 10) and I.S.C. (Year - 12) examinations. Mussoorie Modern School is situated in the summit of a hill at an elevation of 6,800 feet. Mussoorie Modern School Admission Procedure & Admission Fee:- Admission Procedure:- Classes III to IX Applications for admission must be made on the school Registration Form and accompanied by the latest examination result, health certificate and passport size photograph of the child. Admissions are done on the basis of an entrance test, strictly on merit. The child will be tested in English, Mathematics and Hindi. For admission to class I the child should have completed 6 years by 1st June of the year in which he/she is to be admitted. Admission to Class XI Conditions of Eligibility for admission to Class XI 1. For I.C.S.E. (10) Students a) Candidates who have been awarded Pass Certificates in the I.C.S.E. Examination with passes in FIVE subjects including English and a Second language are ELIGIBLE for admission to Class XI. b) Candidates who have been awarded Pass Certificates in the I.C.S.E. Examination with passes in five subjects including English but without a pass in the second language will be admitted PROVISIONALLY to Class XI but will be required to pass in the second language of the I.C.S.E. Examination at the end of Class XI before being declared ELIGIBLE for promotion to Class XII. 2. For students from other Boards The eligibility of candidates who have been awarded Pass Certificates in an EQUIVALENT examination conducted by another Examination Board will be decided by the Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council. The conditions for eligibility are as follows: a) The candidates MUST have been awarded a Pass Certificate in accordance with the requirements of the Board at an equivalent examination taken AT ONE AND THE SAME SITTING. b) Candidates who have been awarded a Pass Certificate in an equivalent examination conducted by another Board with pass marks in English but without a pass in the second language may also be admitted PROVISIONALLY. Such candidates will be required to PASS in the second language of the I.C.S.E (Class X) examination at the end of Class XI before being declared ELIGIBLE for promotion to Class XII. In this case the 'Eligibility Certificate' will be issued by the Secretary of the Council after the candidate has been declared to have passed in the Second Language. c) Candidates who hold GCE (O)/GCSE/IGCSE Level Certificate in five subjects including English at one and the same sitting (examination) are eligible for provisional admission to Class XI of the Indian School Certificate (12) course. 3. Exemption from the Study of a Second Language Candidates coming from Foreign and State Boards that DO NOT HAVE PROVISION for the teaching of a second language, may enroll for Class XI without having to pass in the Second Language at the Class X level Examination. The Eligibility of the candidates will be confirmed by the Secretary of the Council. (The academic year for Classes I to Class X and Class XII usually commences in the second week of March and for Class XI in the second week of April. The school admits children of all castes and religions without any distinction.
