CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Children
CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60%/6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII.
The scholarship shall be given on the basis of merit list as stated in Para 2 above, from the resul t of CBSE Class X Examination. The eligibility criteria shall be as under:
i) All Single Girl Students, who have secured 60%/ 6.2 CGPA or more marks/ grades in CBSE Class X Examination and are studying Class XI & XII in School\ (affiliated with CBSE) whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year, shall be considered for the purpose. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged in the year 2011–2012
Duration of scholarship and its renewal
i) The Scholarship awarded shall be renewed on a year-to- year basis till the successful completion of the chosen course of study in the school. Renewal shall depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate inthe examination which determines her promotion to nextclass.
ji) The renewal/ continuation of the scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if she changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship. The decisionof the Board shall be final and binding in all such matters. A Scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.
Rate of Scholarships and mode of payment
The rate of scholarship shall be Rupees Five Hundred (Rs. 500/-) per month.
A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years.
Payment will be made through demand drafts/ pay orders.
a) Student should have passed Class X Examination from the CBSE and secured 6.2 CGPA or more
b) Pursuing Class XI & XII from CBSE affiliated Schools
c) Student should be ONLY SINGLE GIRL CHILD of their parents.
d) Original Affidavit duly attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/ Executive Magistrate, as per prescribed format available on the Board’s website.(Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted)
e) Application form should be attested by the School Principal from where the student is pursuing Class XI after passing Class X from Board’s Examination
f) Tuition fee should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI& XII.
CBSE Scheme of Scholarship for College And University Students
This Scholarship provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families to meeta part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
ELIGIBILITY Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream for a particular Board of Examination, in class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent and not belonging to the creamy layer as defined by the Deptt. of Personnel and Training in their Notification No.36012/22/93-Estt. (Res), dated 9th March, 2004 (Annexure V) and as may be further modified from time to time, pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized educational institutions and not availing of any other scholarship scheme, would be eligible for consideration this Scheme.
This is application to all categories of students both ‘general’and ‘reserved’.
The examining bodies will draw up a merit list of scholars (Annexure-I) likely to be eligible for scholarship within five weeks after the results of the examin ations announced by the Boards/Universities/Authority for all students.
The income of the student’s parents will be taken into account before preparing the list.
The Boards/Universities/Authority in the State/Union Territory will write to the eligible students from the top of the meritlist up to twice the number of scholarship: available (to provide for possible refusal and in eligible cases) through a registered letter to confirm within 15 day s whether he/she is pre pared to accept the scholarship.
The candidates from the replies are not received within 30 days of the State Board/CBSE/ICSE seeking their willingness will not be considered for scholarship and the ward will begiven to then exteligible candidatesin the merit list.
The Board/Universities in the State/Union Territory will send to each candidate Shortlisted f or consideration for award of scholarship the following
(a) Entitlement Card
(b) Income Affidavit form
(c) A form for ‘Statement of Particulars’.
The shortlisted scholars shall present the Entitlement Card (Annexure-II), Income Affidavit form (Annexure-III) And Statement of Particulars ( Annexure-IV) Duly filled-into the Head of the Institution Joined by him/her. The Head of the institution will complete the Entitlement Card and send it to the Concerned State Board, CBSE,ICSE as the Case may be.
RATE OF SCHOLARSHIPS:-
TheraeofscholarshipwouldbeRs.1000/-p. m. at Graduation Level for first three years of College and University courses andRs.2000/-per month In the 4th and 5th year. The scholarship would be paid for 10 months in an academic year.
DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND ITS RENEWAL:-
Scholarship under the scheme is renewable from year to year upto Post Graduate level in the same stream. For all professional courses, scholarship will be renewed till the graduation level of the course.ForAll the courses the scholarship would be renewal upto a maximum of five year
The renewal will depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 60% or more marks or equivalent Grade Point Average in aggregate for the two preceding semesters or of the annual examination which determines his promotion to the next class. It will also be subject to discipline and maintenance of attendance of at least 75% by the scholar. Complaints against the scholars regarding in discipline including any complaints of having indulged in ragging would lead to for feature of scholarship.
