Aspirants preparing for IIM CAT exam are hereby informed that CAT 2014 notification has been published with key changes. The exam notification announced by IIM Indore on July 26 (Saturday) puts forward key changes for the exam. Announcing these changes, the conducting institute said, that these changes were introduced with the aim of making CAT 2014 more aspirant friendly. The examination board has also announced the key dates for this year';s exam.
Firstly the key changes for this year exam:
01. The purchase of online vouchers has been discontinued.
02. Payment of application fee for the exam will be accepted through online mode only ie through debit/credit card or net banking facility.
03. Aspirants will have no option to prefer the dates for exam as it will be allotted by the CAT 2014 centre randomly.
04. The board has cut the short the examination window; CAT 2014 will be conducted on two days only.
05. The duration of CAT 2014 will be 02 hours and 50 minutes (170 minutes).
06. The sections of quantitative ability and data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning will have 50 questions each.
07. The tutorial which was made available before start of examination will not be available this time. The CAT conducting body (IIM Indore) has advised candidates to do the tutorials from the website well in advance.
08. Aspirants will be able to switch from one section to another during the examination timing.
Important dates for CAT 2014:-
•Online application for CAT 2014 will be accepted from August 06, 2014 (Wednesday) to September 30, 2014 (Tuesday).
•CAT 2014 admit cards will be available for download from October 16, 2014 (Thursday) to November 16, 2014 (Sunday).
•CAT exam will be conducted on November 16, 2014 (Sunday) and November 22, 2014 (Saturday) in forenoon and afternoon sessions
•CAT 2014 result is expected to be declared in the third week of December 2014.
