Logistics is concerned with the flow of materials in the supply chain, from source through the total industrial process to the customer, and then on to disposal or reuse/re-cycling. By co-coordinating all resources, a logistics manager ensures that service levels are acceptable to customers.

Career Prospects of Career as a Logistics Manager

Logistics occurs in all industries and, by its very nature, its the key to their efficiency and effectiveness. Consequently there are excellent career prospects for logistics graduates.These graduates have a  wide range of employment opportunities in Logistics and distribution divisions of manufacturers, the retail industry, freight forwarders, the health services, road freight hauliers, local and central government consultants, third-party distribution companies, parcel delivery services, consultants, manufacturing logistics, procurement divisions of companies and even in armed forces.

Skills & Education Required for Career as a Logistics Manager

A Graduate from any stream with a Post graduation in Managment with a specialisation in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.This person should have a keenness for details and good numerical knowledge. The mental composure should be calm and yet be able to take the pressure to meet timelines. This pressure should not be negativel passed on to subordintes since team mangement is the key to success of any process or activity.
