About Career as a Second Engineer

Second Engineer is the executive officer in the Engine Department.  He takes over the functions of the Chief Engineer in case the latter is ill or incapacitated.His job responsibilities include supervison of engine officers and control of spare parts and stores. Also maintenece of repair work.

Career Prospects of Career as a Second Engineer

Since global trade is increasing the demand for seamen is also increasing. The average salary for second engineer varies from $ 4000 to $6000 per month

Skills & Education Required for Career as a Second Engineer

B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical or  Marine Engineering.

Also, cleared 3rd engineer's examination.
