About Career as an IAS / IPS Officer

The IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Officer or the IPS (Indian Police Services) Officer are positions which are occupied to make the country a better place.The IAS officer is directly employed with the Government either in important functions like Customs, Excise, Sales tax, Income tax, etc. An IPS officer one need not explain what the Police does, we can sleep soundly because they are there to nab the crime in the country.

Career Prospects of Career as an IAS / IPS Officer

The opportunities are immense since our country needs well educated and able personnel to manage these strategic areas of work.

IAS officers get a decent salary after the 6th Planning Commission and the perks are excellent like accommodation, car, medical treatment, etc…

Even Police officers have the same depending on grade or cadre.

Skills & Education Required for Career as an IAS / IPS Officer

The examination is the UPSC held Civil Services exam. This is a very tough exam and most appeared exam. The no. of people appearing for it are close to 2 lakh but the ones to crack it are a mere 400 – 500. The best of this lot make to being an IAS officer and the others can go for IPS officer.

  • Hi all IIMS Karnataka offers GP rating course for 10th pass students. wherein they are provided with a paid on board ship training of 12-18 months providing a stipend of Rs. 15000-20000 / month.After which they are given placement assistance to make them serve in Merchant Navy at salaries ranging from Rs. 1-1.5 lacs a month. for further info- yatin26 at gmail COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 20000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month. Time period of course is 2 years( approx.) including 12-18 months of stipend paid training.Students of PCM / Commerce with Maths are eligible for one module whereas students of all three streams ARTS/SCIENCE/COMMERCE are eligible for another module . Many institutes in india make students undergo a three year classroom training program and provide them with a B.Sc. degree which is actually a waist of time. They do not provide students with sea training which is mandatory to get CDC , valid license to serve as merchant navy officers. Students are left totally on themselves to search for a sea training in which they spend 1 year to locate such a training for themselves. after which the job hunt starts bcoz. an institute which didnt even provide for a training doesnt help students in placements.In all this process takes about 5-7 years . GEC course provides for converting Engineers of all streams to Marine Engineers within 1.5 years with paid stipend training of Rs. 15000-25000 a month on board ships. After which they get a salary of around 2 lacs a month as Marine Engineers.yatin26 at gmail IIMS on the other hand provides students with a paid training on ship and provides a strong assistance to get the students placed in shipping companies as officers at very attractive salaries.within 2-2.5 years students are ready to serve as officers and to remind you they started earning right from the 4th month of enrollment when they are sent to the ship on a stipend paid training.yatin26 at gmail Courses for diploma holders to be launched soon.
