Petroleum Engineering is one of the prime branches of the engineering profession that focuses in reservoir,drilling and production disciplines of hydrocarbon resources in onshore and offshore fields during the exploration, development and operation phases. The oil and gas industries have rich global presence dominated by numerous national and multinational companies. Varieties of opportunities and rewarding careers are in existence for Petroleum Engineering Graduates in the fields of oil and gas exploration, reservoir modeling and management, drilling and production operations and marketing of oil and gas. The Petroleum Engineering Programme at the AMET University has a modern curriculum that emphasizes not only Petroleum Engineering fundamentals but also the business management processes that are applied to reach optimal engineering options for field development and exploitation of hydrocarbon.

Qualifications:-  A Pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 60% Marks aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry Group from any recognized Board.

Ans : dear u can undergo GEC course to get converted to marine engineer. The GEC course is for the duration of around 15 months and the entire training is completed in 3 phases as under: Phase 1: 5 months Pre-Sea training at Academy in Bangkok Phase 2: 8 months Sea training on board Ship. (You shall be paid a stipend of around USD 200 – 400 per month depending on the Ship. (The Institute assures 100/% Placements for sea training on board ships which is a pre - requisite to get the job with the Shipping Companies.)
