About the College

 Sinhgad College of Engineering (SCOE) was established in the year 1996 – 1997 offering 4 – years degree courses in Information Technology, Computer, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering and Production Engineering.
 
All the above courses are approved by All India Council Of Technical Education (AICTE), accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and affiliated to University of Pune. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai has awarded “A” grade to the college.

The department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation for three years. Mechanical Engineering is versatile and evergreen branch of engineering. A Mechanical Engineer can work in various specialized areas like Automotive Systems, Bio Engineering, Combustion and Propulsion, Design Engineering, Dynamic Systems and Controls, Energy Systems and Thermodynamics, Fluid Power Engineering, Heat Transfer, Refrigeration & Air conditioning and most importantly in software field also. The department has most modern CAD/CAM/CAE center. The department has high end software’s like NASTRAN/PATRAN, ANSYS 10, Pro-E for Solid Modeling and Analysis of Mechanism and Manufacturing, Cadian Mech 2004, AUTODESK INVENTOR series, FLUENT for CFD etc. The department has nine laboratories, well equipped with modern equipments such as Steam Power Plant, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Test rigs, Auto collimator Angle dekkor, Gear tester, Friction wear test rig etc. The department has undertaken a project to develop HCFC free room air conditioner. The department is offering postgraduate program in Design Engineering, Heat Power Engineering and Machatronics. Our department is recognized as research centre for Ph. D program.

The department has conducted a few software training workshops for engineering teachers and engineers from industry. The department has been approached by an international company Eclipse combustion pvt. Ltd. Industrial Burner Technology to design and conduct a training course for its engineers/Supervisors from various industries.

We have tie up with various industries for transfer of technical Know how and industrial projects

Only this department among all the Pune University affiliated colleges is conducting an elective course on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for its final year students.
The department is recognized as Indira Gandhi National Open University Study centre (Code 1687) for B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering for the course of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (BTME)

Ans : No chance Bcoz aeronautical engg course will admits only the students hav done PCM in science stream that too with minimum of 50% in PCM.....

Q : I am pursuing B.E. (I.T./8th sem). I am confused regarding my future prospects. what i can opt for after my graduation. pls help

Ans : It all depends upon ur interest. If u r interested in pursuing higher education after your Btech the options are M Tech , MCA, if u r good in programming and want to work in IT sector else do a MBA if u want to pursue a career in Management.. I would advise u to work after ur BE for atleast 2 -3 yrs. and then do a full time or part time MBA.
