 The Master of Technology program is offered by all the Engineering Departments. The M.Tech. programme is of four semester duration first and second semesters are entirely coursework oriented, The third and fourth semester involves THESIS work.

 In general, admission is given in the following three categories :

    * Admission to students who qualify through GATE ( For M.Tech. in Comp. Sc., and M.Tech. Software Engg. there will be an additional entrance test).
    * Admissions to college teachers through the Quality improvement programme.
    * Admissions to candidates serving in the Industry, sponsored by their employers.

About the College

Motilal Nehru National Institute Of Technology, Allahabad was formerly Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad . It is an institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits, is among one of the leading institutes in INDIA and was established in year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Govt. of India and Govt. of U.P. in accordance with the scheme of establishment of REC.

Motilal Nehru National Institute Of Technology (MNNIT-A) has been declared a deemed university on 26th june 2002.

MNNIT Allahabad came into existance to offer Bachelor Degree Programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Branches in 1961. After consolidating these courses an undergraduate program in Computer Science was started in year 1976-77. Subsequently in the year 1982-83 undergraduate programmes in Electronics Engg. and Production and Industrial Engg. were started.

Post Graduate courses were introduced in the year 1970-71 by starting Master Degree courses in all engineering departments. The institute now offer various M.Tech. degree programs and M.C.A. course and registers candidates for Ph.D. degree. The institute has been recognised by the Government of India as one of the centres for the quality improvement programme in Civil and Mechanical Engg. To add a new dimension to itself the institute has started a two year / four semesters Post Graduate Degree in Management Studies from 1996.

The students are extensively exposed to cross-cultural environment as candidates from various other countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mauritius, Malaysia, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Palestine and Thailand also join MNNIT for various undergraduate and post-graduate programs.

MNNIT is fully residential institution with seven hostels for boys and two for girls. One hostel is exclusively for post graduate students.

As the university provides numerous scholarships based on previous qualification, performance in National Level Exams, some achievements in sports, cultural activities, entrepreneurship etc. So during the admission ones proficiency will decide which scholarship will be applicable. The standard fee of this program is 120000 INR per semester.
