The Department has research programme leading to the Ph. D. degree. The areas of research include :

* Parallel Processing

* Content-based Retrieval & Indexing
* Mobile Code Security.
Students can register for Ph.D. work on full-time as well as part time basis. Financial assistance may be available to full-time students under the schemes of research assistant and project assistant. Detailed particulars for Ph.D. registration are available with the Controller of Examinations.
Eligibility:- To register for the research programme the candidate must posses an M.Tech, M. Sc. (IT), M. Sc. (CS) or an MCA degree with UGC norms.
Admission Procedure:- Through interview/Written Test. Notification for Admission is usually issued in February, and September.
