About the College

The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, popularly known as UVCE, is an engineering college affiliated to the Bangalore University, and is located in Bangalore, India. The college was established in the year 1917, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The college is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. The departments are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

From its inception, the college has grown steadily and is imparting quality technical education. It has produced a number of professional graduates and post-graduates, who are placed in very high positions in India and abroad. The admission of students to the undergraduate courses is entirely on the basis of merit through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the state government. Normally, the top-ranking students of the Common Entrance Test choose this college for their admission. The entrance to post-graduate courses is through the Degree, GATE and entrance test results.

The alumni of UVCE, spread globally and involved in front line engineering education, research and entrepreneurship, stand testimony to the quality of engineering education imparted in this prestigious technical institution. Every year, nearly 450 students graduate at the under-graduate level from five disciplines and are employed in reputed organisations. Among the various engineering colleges in Karnataka, UVCE was the earliest to have offered post-graduate courses.

Q : I have completed my in ECE branch so I want to do post graduation which is suitable for my career to do MBA or M.TECH

Ans : Dear M.Bajikushma, It clearly depends upon your interest and what you want to do in life, how good you are in your engineering and whether you want to pursue your career in engineering field only. If you are interested in working in an office environment in management level then you should go for MBA. I would suggest you first work for 1-2 years after and see what really interests you and then jump for post graduation.
