Duration:- 6 Months

Eligibility:-Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 10th Standard from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematic as subjects and with minimum 40% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard.

Age:- 17½ to 25 years

Ans : COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 10000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month. Ans : dear u can undergo GEC course to get converted to marine engineer. The GEC course is for the duration of around 15 months and the entire training is completed in 3 phases as under: Phase 1: 5 months Pre-Sea training at Academy in Bangkok Phase 2: 8 months Sea training on board Ship. (You shall be paid a stipend of around USD 200 – 400 per month depending on the Ship. (The Institute assures 100/% Placements for sea training on board ships which is a pre - requisite to get the job with the Shipping Companies.)   • Hi all IIMS Karnataka offers GP rating course for 10th pass students. wherein they are provided with a paid on board ship training of 12-18 months providing a stipend of Rs. 15000-20000 / month.After which they are given placement assistance to make them serve in Merchant Navy at salaries ranging from Rs. 1-1.5 lacs a month. for further info- yatin26 at gmail COC3 course at IIMS ,Karnataka after 10+2 provides you with the stipend paid on board ship training paying 20000-25000 / month. after which students get placed at salaries ranging from Rs. 1.5- 2 lacs a month. Time period of course is 2 years( approx.) including 12-18 months of stipend paid training.Students of PCM / Commerce with Maths are eligible for one module whereas students of all three streams ARTS/SCIENCE/COMMERCE are eligible for another module . Many institutes in india make students undergo a three year classroom training program and provide them with a B.Sc. degree which is actually a waist of time. They do not provide students with sea training which is mandatory to get CDC , valid license to serve as merchant navy officers. Students are left totally on themselves to search for a sea training in which they spend 1 year to locate such a training for themselves. after which the job hunt starts bcoz. an institute which didnt even provide for a training doesnt help students in placements.In all this process takes about 5-7 years . GEC course provides for converting Engineers of all streams to Marine Engineers within 1.5 years with paid stipend training of Rs. 15000-25000 a month on board ships.
