You can do part time M.tech and mba both after your BE.
It all depends what significance you are talking about. I fit is for a job then yes, Generally companies prefer students with full time MBA and it is for the companies to go to the campuses and approach such students. But for part time mba's hardly any placement platform is available.

I am an MBA graduate in Finance-System with 73% marks, from Bharathiar University, Tamilnadu. I would like to do Mhil or Ph.D. I prefer to do part time course as I am working in an IT company in Technopark, Trivandrum. I had attended for UGC NET exam in June 2011 and awaiting for results. Please send me details regarding part time as well as full time course on Mphil and Ph.d and which course will be better.
And also, please send details of books to buy for UGC NET as well as JRIC in June 2012 for getting a better rank.

Ans :
Depends on your interests... MBA is a better option if you want to work in management grades or fields like marketing, finance or HR, but if you are interested in working in the industry or research in engineering field then ME is better.
