Analytical Writing — Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills, specifically the test taker's ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively
Verbal Reasoning — Measures reading comprehension skills and verbal and analogical reasoning skills, focusing on the test taker's ability to analyze and evaluate written material
Quantitative Reasoning — Measures problem-solving ability, focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis
Computer-based GRE revised General Test is about three hours and 45 minutes. There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

* Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
* You may take the GRE General Test (computer-based or paper-based) only once per calendar month, and no more than five times within any 12-month period. This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously.
Paper-based GRE General Test:-
* Paper-based GRE General Test administrations are offered in areas where computer-based testing is not available.

* Be sure to check the score report mailing date when selecting a test date.
