Description


The Advanced Training Institute, in short  ATI, Ludhiana was established by  Government of India, in 1963 to meet the technological needs  of Industries and other organizations of developing India in the fields/trades of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Agricultural Machinery.

The Institute is functioning under Govt. of India,  Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate General of Employment & Training  (DGE&T). The Institute  Management Committee ( IMC ) has been  formed with leading industrialist  as members. The institute  is spread over 32 acres of land, situated at a distance of 5 Km from Railway station and 4 km from Bus stand ahead on Gill road. The Auto rickshaw, city local buses are frequently plying from Railway station and Bus stand to reach the Institute.

The Institute is well equipped with Training equipments/ Machines of world class, Work Shops, Audio Visual Lab, Library, Canteen and a Boys Hostel to accommodate 400 students.  The institute is recently strengthened with latest Machinery under Vocational Training Improvement Project of  Govt. of India, Ministry of Labour & Emp. with the assistance of World Bank. Apart from this, the Institute is having 67 Staff quarters & a Dispensary. Club for indoor games is also constructed in the campus. In addition to this Play ground for out door games is also available for sports. The Chapter of National cadet Corps (NCC) is  also established  in the institute.

  • Craftsman Instructor Training Scheme (CITS)

    The one year courses has been divided into 4 modules whose details are given below. Trainees have to pass all the four  modules to get the instructor course certificate. Trainees can pass any module from any DGET training institute existing in country.  The Instructor course is an essential qualification to become an  instructor.

    Name of Module:- Trade Technology -1 ( TT-1)
       
    Duration:- 3 months each module.

    Name of Module:- Trade Technology -2 ( TT-2)
       
    Duration:- 3 months each module.
       
    Admission Schedule:- Admission is done in the month of July, October, January & April of calendar year

    Name of Module:- Training Methodology  ( TM )

    Duration:- 3 months each module.

    Engineering Technology ( ET )

    Duration:- 3 months each module.

    The ATI Ludhiana  is purposed to conduct  Training  courses  for  TT-1 & TT-2 modules in  trades of   Electrician,     Fitter,   Machinist,    Turner,  Welder,   Mechanic Motor Vehicle and     Mechanic Agricultural Machinery, Mechanic Tractor, Mechanic Machine Tool maintenance, Pump Operator cum Mechanic,  Mechanic Auto El & EC, Mechanic Diesel & Tool &Die maker (Press tools, & Jigs & fixture)

    For this purpose, the academic session (August to July) will be divided into four quarters as under:-

    First quarter-     1st  August to 31st October
       
    Second Quarter-    1st November to 31st January

    Third Quarter-     1st February to 30th April
       
    Fourth Quarter-   1st May to 31st July

    Eligibility & Preference:-

     1. Candidate who are Matriculate  between  18 to 40 year of age as on 30th June of  admission year and have passed. 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST is also given.

    2. Diploma in Engineering or  National Apprenticeship  certificate (NAC) in the concerned trade or National Trade Certificate (NTC) with one year Practical experience in the concerned trade

    3. The candidates Sponsored by Directors of States / Union Territories in Charge dealing with crafts man Training scheme will be given first preference. If seats falls vacant then these will be offered to affiliated ITIs / ITCs , Govt. of India undertakings and Industrial organizations on strictly first come first serve basis. There is no age limit for the candidates sponsored by State Director.

    4. For the remaining seats unfilled after reserving  for (2) & ( 3) above, the balance seats will be offered to Private candidates, on Merit Basis only.

    Reservation:-

    Out of sanctioned strength, reservation is made as under.

    Schedule  Caste   15%

    Schedule Tribe 7.5%

    Other Backward Class  27.5%

    Disabled persons 3%   ( suitability of trade to be certified)

    Ex service man 01%

    Women candidates  30% ( for each category i.e horizontal)

    (subject to availability of  seats after allotment to the Govt. deputed  candidates.)

    How to apply:-

    Candidates desiring admission may contact the Director, Advanced Training Institute, Gill road, Ludhiana PIN 141003(Punjab)  and apply in the prescribed in the application form obtained by depositing Rs.100/- ( cost of form Rs.25/- & Registration fee of Rs.75/-) in cash or uncrossed Indian Postal order in favor of Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO), ATI Ludhiana, Payable at  Ludhiana only and also enclose a self addressed unstamped envelop of size 11 x 25cm. The form can also be obtained from institute counter between 9am to 4.30 pm on all five working days by a payment of Rs.75/-. Admission Form for Instructor course module can also be down loaded from the institute  web site www:/atiludhiana.nic in.  Last date of receipt of applications is  normally kept  30th  June  every year for module starting from August.

  • Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS)

    Name of Courses:- Turner

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent.


    Name of Courses:- Fitter

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent.
       

    Name of Courses:- Machinist

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent.
       

    Name of Courses:- Electrician

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent with science as one of the subject.
       

    Name of Courses:- Information Technology  &  Electronic system Maintenance (IT&ESM)
       
    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:-

    Essential: Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education with minimum 60% marks individually in Math & science.

    Desirable:  Passed 12th  Class under 10+2 System with Math & Physics.


    Name of Courses:- Mechanic Motor Vehicle

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent
       

    Name of Courses:- Mechanic Agricultural Machinery

    Duration:- 2 years

    Entry qualification:-

    Essential: Passed 8th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent

    Desirable:  Passed Matriculation with science (Physics & Chemistry) as one of the subject Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent with science as one of the subject.


    Name of Courses:- Computer Operator  & Programming Assistant. (COPA)

    Duration:- 1 year

    Entry qualification:-

    Passed 12th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or passed 3 years of Diploma in any branch of Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic, other things being equal, the candidate with higher qualification will be given preference.


    Name of Courses:- Welder (Gas & Electric)

    Duration:- 1 year

    Entry qualification:- Passed 10th  Class examination under 10+2 System of education or its equivalent
       

    Candidate must be between 14 to 40 year of age as on 1st August of admission year and upper age limit is 35 years for physically handicapped person.

    Admission:- Selection will be made on the marks obtained in the public examination prescribed for the entrance qualification for the trade & marks obtained in higher examinations. Admission  to the trades where the minimum entry qualification prescribed is 8th class, entry test would be conducted by the institute to draw the merit List. The mark sheet of 8th class should be countersigned by District education Officer.    After admission the  MTI course  commence from 1st August every year.
     
    How to apply

    The candidates desire to take admission in MTI course should apply on prescribed  applications form with two latest Passport size photographs along with copies of certificates. Application form may be obtained by depositing Rs.75/- ( cost of application form Rs.25/- & registration charges Rs.50/-)  from the Director of Institute in cash or Indian Postal Order in favor of Drawing and Disbursing officer (DDO), ATI , Payable at Ludhiana. Trainees can also down load the Admission Form  for MTI course given in institute web site    www:/atiludhiana.nic in.
