Description

Apollo College of Nursing was established in 1983 and it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr M G R Medical University. The college is approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC), Government of India and recognized by Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai. The tiny seed that was sown two decades ago has grown into mammoth proportions and Apollo has spread its wings not only to the other states of the country, but also to the world across the seas. Today Apollo boasts of over 38 hospitals with 5,000 licensed beds and over 10, 000 employees. The college provides good infrastructure facilities such as Library, Transport, Clinical facilities, Insurance, Scholarships, Sports, Laboratories, Co-curricular activities and Hostel accommodation. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in B Sc Nursing and M Sc Nursing.

Apollo College of Nursing Courses offered

B Sc (Nursing)

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent in science stream or Intermediate Vocational (Nursing or MPHW) or Inter, with Bridge course of Biological and Physical Sciences and should have secured minimum aggregate of 45% marks. In case of SC, ST categories, 5% relaxation is allowed. Candidates should have completed 17 years age and should not have exceeded 35 years age as on December 31st of the year of admission. For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.

Admission Procedure: Admissions are made on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam and counseling conducted by the college and as per the norms of council for all the available courses.
B Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed Intermediate or its equivalent (10+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (Biology) as optional subjects and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course from any institution recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh / Nursing Council of India. Candidates should have completed 21 years and should not be more than 45 years of age as on 31-12-2009. For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years applicants and they should have completed 2 years of service as a Staff Nurse.

Admission Procedure: Admissions are made on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam and counseling conducted by the college and as per the norms of council for all the available courses.
M Sc (Nursing)

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed B.Sc (Nursing) with minimum of 55% aggregate marks and in respect of SC/ ST, the candidates should have scored at least 50% in aggregate, from any University / Institution recognized or established under any State or Central Act/ Indian Nursing Council. The candidate should be a registered Nurse and registered midwife or equivalent with any state Nursing Registration Council and have 1 year work experience. Candidates should not have exceeded 45 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. The age limit is relaxed by 3 years in case of SC and ST candidates.
