B.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering)

Eligibility:-10+2 pass with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and pass marks in English and qualifying in AIEEE.

Admission Procedure:- The merit lists for admission are prepared based on scores of AIEEE held in the current year. 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates from the North Eastern States.

M.Tech. (Information Technology)

The M.Tech in Information Technology is a four semester full-time programme oriented for research and advance training in Information Technology. It is an AICTE approved programme. It covers major aspects of Information Technology and related subjects through 11 courses (compulsory :6 and elective :5). The student has to carry out a dissertation work in an area of interest in Information Technology.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Duration:-  Three years (Six semesters)

Eligibility:    

• A bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline
• At least 50% marks in aggregate or in the major subject of the qualifying examination
• having passed in Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level.

Admission Procedure:- The selection for admission to the programme will be based on an All India level Open Entrance Test to be conducted by the University. The questions will be multiple choice type. The test is of two hours duration and consists of three components

• Logical reasoning
• Mathematics of 10+2 level OR Computer Science (B.Sc. or BCA)
• English Comprehension

Ph.D (Computer Science & Engineering)

The Department has research programme leading to the Ph. D. degree. The areas of research include :

    * Cryptology & Cryptography
    * Information Systems
    * Natural Language Processing
    * Soft Data Mining
    * Content-based Retrieval & Indexing
    * Mobile Code Security.

Students can register for Ph.D. work on full-time as well as part time basis. Financial assistance may be available to full-time students under the schemes of research assistant and project assistant. Detailed particulars for Ph.D. registration are available with the Controller of Examinations.

Eligibility:- To register for the research programme the candidate must posses an M.Tech, M. Sc. (IT), M. Sc. (CS) or an MCA degree with UGC norms.

Admission Procedure:- Through interview/Written Test. Notification for Admission is usually issued in February, and September.
