Dogra College of Education was established in 1994. ecognized by the government of J&k and affiliated to the University of Jammu. Dogra College of Education is also ISO 9001:2008 certified, NAAC Accredited and recognized by U.G.C.

Dogra College of Education has well stocked library with wide collection of books & CD’s, course books, reference books, encyclopedias, journals & periodicals, Separate Hostel for Boys & Girls, Education Technology lab is equipped with OHP, Tape Recorder, Television, Camera & Computers.

Dogra College of Education offers Bachelor of Education - B.Ed course.

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

    Duration:- One year

    Eligibility:- All such students who do not possess Degree certificate of B.A./B.Sc/B.Com or M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. and the migration certificate at the time of admissions are directed to obtain these documents from the concerned quarters at an earliest so that they become eligible for appearing in the B.Ed. examination of the University of Jammu, otherwise their admissions shall be provisional and their result kept with held under D.E. (Disputed Eligibility) category.


    Compulsory Papers

    Paper – I Education in Emerging Indian Society
    Paper – II Psychology of Teaching Learning Process
    Paper – III School Management and Pedagogies of Education
    Paper – IV Development of educational System in India

    Paper – V Any one of the Following:

    a) Essentials of Educational technology
    b) Information ad Communication Technology
    c) Guidance and Counseling
    d) Educational Measurement and Evaluation
    e) Environmental Education

    Teaching Subjects
    Paper VI and VII Content-cum-Methodology of Teaching any two school subjects from the following groups

    Group – I Teaching of English / Hindi / Punjabi
    Group – II Teaching of Social Studies
    Group – III Teaching of General Science
    Group – IV Teaching of Mathematics

    The students shall have to opt any two subjects selecting not more than one from each of the groups mentioned above.

    Practice of Teaching
    Practice of teaching is another important component of teacher training programme and this components is further classified into four constituents.

    1. Micro Teaching
    2. Macro Teaching
    3. Internship
    4. Final practice of teaching

    Micro Teaching
    For the purpose of Micro Teaching students are classified into various groups and the member of each group practice single skill at a time under simulated condition within the college.

    1. Skill of reinforcement
    2. Skill of stimulus variation
    3. Skill of questioning
    4. Skill of lecturing
    5. Skill of Illustration with examples

    Preparation of Teaching Aids
    The teacher trainees are given practice of preparing different teaching aids related to the school teaching subjects offered by them. For this purpose, workshop is held and charts, models and other teaching aids prepared by old students are displayed.

    Macro Lesson
    For the purpose of Macro Teaching students are classified into groups and are sent to practicing schools along with the supervisor. The pupil teachers are given orientation and demonstration of macro lesson by the expert subject teachers using RCEM approach of lesson planning which is observed and discuss by the pupil teachers prior to the commencement of Macro Teaching.

    Each B.Ed students deliver 20 lessons 10 in each subject and two criticism lesson.

    Observation Lessons
    Pupil-teachers observed 20 lessons delivered by the peer teacher and maintain the record of the observation lessons on their practical note book.

    Apart from teaching practice experience in school, the teacher trainee has to function as a regular teacher in a school i.e. taking part in morning assembly, maintaining attendance, attending staff meetings, maintaining stock register and attendance register, issuing transfer certificates, writing letters/notices, conduct of co-curricular activities, observing lessons of the teachers of the practicing schools and other allied activities which help them to improve their professional competence.
