Private Engineering Colleges are relatively new in West Bengal. IEM is oldest among these Colleges. Majority of the Students are well placed through campus interviews via our placement cell.
Prof. A.K. De was first principal of IEM till 1997 Before joining IEM, Prof De was Director of IIT, Mumbai "I have very recently taken over the reins of the Institute's affairs as Principal.I was a teacher and then Director at IIT,Bombay for over two decades.I can assure both the guardians and their wards, that I shall ever try to bring the best of the technical and managerial education system in the country to this Institute."
In the Institute of Engineering & Management Students are admitted normally from the upper 10% of successful candidates from West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for engineering course and CAT for management course. The faculty, laboratories and other infrastructure are equivalent to any of the reputed engineering and management institutes of the country. Students are disciplined and hard working.
