Description

International Maritime Academy (IMA) is registered private ltd comapany to run the maritime courses & established on the year 1999 in the chennai city. The IMA is Approved by the  Directorate General of shipping (DGS), Ministry of shipping, Government of India vide their letter No: 3-TR(48/99) on Dec 1999..

The Academy has been awarded ISO   9001:2000 Quality Certification    by Indian Register Quality Systems.

The Academy  is the study center for "YASHWANTRA CHAVAN  MAHARASHTRA OPEN UNIVERSITY (YCMOU) NASHIK" for the award of B.Tech(Marine Engineering)Degree, B.Sc (Nautical Science) Degree.

The Academy is collaborated with "INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU)", for the award of Diploma Nautical Science which further leads to obtain B.Sc Nautical Science.

IMA has a placement cell to interact with the leading international reputation among  the shipping companies, The International shipping companies are conducting campus interviews to select our Trainees for their requirement.

International Maritime Academy (IMA) Courses offered

  • B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

    Marine Engineering course and a four-Modular course successfully, the student is eligible, to be appointed as Junior Engineer on Merchant Ships. On completion of the stipulated period on ships and after passing the required competency Examination conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India or Marine Administration of other governments, the Engineer becomes a Chief Engineer of a ship within 5 to 6 years.

    Duration:    - 4 years

    Eligibility:-     Pass 10 +2 in Science from Recognized Broad With 60% Average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics &  50% in English.

    Age:-  Maximum 25 Yrs

    Physical Fitness:-     No Color Blindness,   (+) or (-) 2.5 vision is allowed. Eye Glasses permitted.

     

  • B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)

    The course includes design and construction of Marine crafts and structures and Ocean Engineering

    Duration:- 4 years

    Eligibility:- 10 + 2 in Science with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

    Age Limit:- Maximum 25 years

    Physical Fitness:- No Colour Blindness (Eye Glasses allowed).

     

  • Diploma Nautical Science (DNS)

    Diploma Nautical Science(1 Year course) :leads to obtain B.Sc (Nautical Science) - Approved by DG Shipping &  Affliated with IGNOU.

    Eligibility:- 10 + 2 in Science with From a Recognized Broad With 55% Average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics &  Compulsory: 50% in English Subject

    Age:- Upto 25 years

    Physical Fitness:-     No Color Blindness, 6/6 Vision in each eye. No Eye Glasses permitted
