Description

Nestled in the sylvan surroundings of the Somaiya Vidyavihar stands its premier institution, the K.J.Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce. This college established in 1960 has risen by slow and steady degrees to be an institution to reckon with as an educational institution inculcating in the present day youngsters the eternal values enshrined in our Indian ethos through special Gita Lectures.
     
With a student strength of about 6500 and a teaching and non teaching staff of 150, this institution, with their excellent co- operation is actively engaged in a host of curricular as well as extra-curricular activities throughout the year, both at the Junior and Senior College levels.

The college offers a wide variety of subjects on its courses at various levels. This is especially so in respect of the Arts Faculty courses. There is much to choose from at both the Ancillary as well as the Major levels of study.

Infrastructure

•    KJ Somaiya College is located in the economic capital city of the country-Mumbai. As it is located in such a huge city it has totally urban infrastructure aesthetically designed for the comfort of the students.

•    It has a library with rich collection of books over 67000 including periodicals, journals, encyclopedias, etc. The library also facilitates internet for the online research.

•    The computer lab has 50 computers with latest operating system and high speed internet connectivity. Students are warmly welcomed with any doubts regarding computers.

•    The campus is housed with 7 canteens offering different taste of food including Chinese, South Indian, Continental, etc. It also serves fast food to the students.

•    The college encourages its students for indoor as well as outdoor games and hence has 2 large playgrounds for cricket, football, etc.

•    It has a conference hall to conduct various meetings of professors and management.
