National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), established in 1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) through the International Labour Organization (ILO), is one of the leading Institutes for Management education. NITIE is an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and is governed by a Board of Governors, comprising of eminent personalities from Government, Academicians and Industry. Since its inception, NITIE has been providing solutions to the complex problems of industries and business, taking cognizance of ever changing needs of the dynamic business environment. Over the years it has emerged as India’s ‘Ivy-League’ B schools and has been recognized as a centre of excellence along with the IITs, IIMs and IISc.

The institute has world class infrastructure with all the modern amenities within the campus. Campus being located in the city it is so designed that none of the city’s noise disturbs the students. The college has a fully air conditioned auditorium with the seating capacity of more than 190 people at a time. It is also used to conduct regular lecture, guest lectures, presentations, etc. The institute also has well furnished hostels with attached bathrooms and various other facilities. The sports interested students can spend their time playing various outdoor games within the campus. The college cafeteria is the best place for an informal meet among students.

National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE)'s placement cell not only provides placement assistance to the students in relevant organisation but it also helps the students of the institute in their career planning, preparation for selection tests, summer placement, internship and final placements.
Summer Internship is one of an important and integral part of the Post-Graduate Programme, where students intern with their chosen organization for 8-9 weeks after their first year. The internship programme helps students gain first-hand experience in a particular industry and provides them with ample opportunities to innovate, and challenge ideas and techniques imbibed in the first year.
