Description

Visakhapatnam, The City of Destiny, located on the East Coast of India on the waters of Bay of Bengal is one of the fastest developing city with many major industries and PSUs in and around the city. The city is proud possessor of one of the busiest ports in India, the Head Quarters of Eastern Naval Command, Dredging Corporation of India and Visakha Steel Plant to name few. The city is a synonym to education and is an abode to many of the best educational institutions for higher and technical studies. The city has become a destination for students from all over the country as it has become a hub of education, with many entry level corporate schools and colleges offering technical and management courses.

It was a long felt need that an institution to offer various courses, including Degree in Marine Engineering, leading to a career in shipping industry be established in this city.

This led to the idea of setting up of an institute, dedicated to Maritime Education & Training. Thus came Praveenya Institute of Marine Engineering and Maritime Studies (PRIME) into existence.

The proposed Marine Engineering Institute is primarily envisaged and put in action by highly experienced marine engineers and academicians with vast expertise in Marine Engineering, Maritime Education & Training and Institutional Administration.
