  • School of Investment banking is one of its kind in India. Very tough election criteria. They are pretty good at what they do. Nobody an guarantee placements and getting into Investment Banking is extremely competitive. Therefore they do take anyone who is not passionate about IB. I attended the course last year and am working at a global IBD. There were 2 students in my batch who were allowed to take the course but not sit for placements. They were told about this before joining. Getting students placed i IB is very diffiult and not even every student from IIM make it. Having network is very important and this is what they are good at. If in worst case you do not get placed just in the 10th week of the course, they continue to work you. It is an important network that you make. 150,000 is negligible compared to the opportunities you get. Plus the quality of students is very good and some were from foreign universities. • Hi friends, I think there is some serious misunderstanding about the course provided by SIB. They are extremely professional in their approach and very supportive. I've did their part time course last year. I was able to clear the very important interview with one of the global I Banks because of SIB's assistance. I'll always remain thankful to SIB because they guided me on how to prepare for interviews even though I did not take their full time classes. Since then I've recommended couple of my friends and they are now working in I Banking divisions. My suggestion, don't go by rumours, meet them personally if you have any doubt on their credibility. • I just completed the Full time course from SIB and would fully recommend this course to anyone who aspires to work in the field of Investment Banking / Equity research. Even though, I came from an engineering background and had zero knowledge about finance / accounting prior to this, I now have a job with an investment banking firm only because of SIB. Their course is structured beautifully and conducted very professionally. The real life teaching here is awesome and prepares candidates fully to excel in their jobs. I feel very happy to have made this investment in my career. THANK YOU SIB for making the difference!!!! Posted by : Rohit, on 13-05-2011 Report Abuse
  • NEVER EVERY MAKE A MISTAKE OF ATTENDING THIS COURSE. Rs 1,50,000, at once, looks like an investment - BUT BELIEVE ME IT IS GOING TO BE A DEAD INVESTMENT. You will not be allowed to take study materials (excel sheet templates, formats, ppt concepts) at home. There is 100% assurance that you will NOT be placed. The faculty - promoters are very shrewd in terms of communication, american accent just not sound good. There is an academy called "AFT" floated by two ex-bankers, IDFC & Morgan Stanley, I personally attended their course & found it to be worth it. It is only INR 16,000 and they allow you to take materials. They don't commit placement but atleast they are transparent in whatever they do. Worth giving a look once.. • See SIB , on face of it looks good . Placements seems to be good , dont know about quality of teaching , really known for its very very high and tough selection criteria , where your academics does not weigh much but which school you belong to and passion toward the field of IB/ER . I have visited to the mumbai Campus , I have spoken to both the Directors Kunal in Mumbai and Mohit in Noida , they totally rejected my application , despite of having average academics , and having finance background , When I enquired about basis of rejecting me , they told something which is of very less importance in corporates , It was my fault that I have trusted on this institute , If they are very very serious in selecting people for training in IB , and they can take only brilliant people , then they are not all doing justice to society , Brilliant people can easily get job but what about average people .Mohit and Kunal has not at all done fair with my careers .Guys and Gals better to take some well known training by Brands like Wall-Street , The Analyst Exchange , Deal Maven etc.....
