School of Petroleum Management formerly know as Institute of Petroleum Management was established in 2006. by GERMI (Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute), established by GSPC (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation),

School of Petroleum Management offers MBA, Ph.D, Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Management, Executive MBA Programe.

School of Petroleum Management is in process of receiving application for its 6th Batch. Admission to School of Petroleum Management is based on merit of CAT score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The School has recently witnessed one of the finest placement for the Batch 2009-2011. Students are placed at IOCL, BPCL, E & Y, Larsen & Toubro, Infraline, Mahanagar Gas, Sabarmati Gas to name a few.
    

  • 15-Month Executive MBA

    Executive Masters in Business Administration (Executive MBA) programme is a 15- month programme offered by SPM leading to MBA degree in energy sector. The Executive MBA programme has the following features:

        * The curriculum is designed to meet the requirement of energy sector and more specifically the petroleum segment.
        * It is a 15-month full- time residential programme.
        * The curriculum is delivered in quarter system, with four quarters in one year.
        * First four quarters involve study of classroom courses, where residential requirement is essential. Total 72 credit hours of classroom course work are completed in the first four quarters.
        * In the fifth quarter students have to undergo Internship or undertake Comprehensive Project Work, after the successful completion of course work. The Internship can be done at one’s own employer company or even abroad. We are planning to offer global exposure opportunity. This component carries six credits.

    The programme is designed to bring all perspectives important for any business in general and petroleum industry in particular, as a common thread. For example perspectives like globalization, strategy, technology etc. appear as a common thread through the programme.
    Each student is required to complete a minimum of 72 classroom credit hours and an internship carrying 6 credits.

    Eligibility:-   

    •  An applicant must possess a bachelor degree in any discipline of studies, with a minimumof 50 percent or equivalent.

    •  An applicant must have a minimum of five years of relevant managerial/supervisor level experience after completing bachelor degree.

  • MBA

    MBA  rogramme is focused on energy and infrastructure sectors. Accordingly, the entire curriculum is designed to make students MBA+. These students become MBA degree holders, and they possess additional knowledge, which is sector specific.

    Duration:- 2 years

    Eligibility:-         
                 
    1. Candidates who have appeared at Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010 conducted by IIMs are eligible to apply.

    2. A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA, of any University incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.

     3. The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

    4. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained bachelor's degree.

    5. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the SPM by dividing earned CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the quotient with 100.

    6. A candidate appearing for the final year examination of bachelor's degree or equivalent can also apply.

         
    a. Such candidate must produce a certificate from the authority of the of the university/ institution certifying that (i) the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years’ grade/marks except the final year grade/marks), and (ii) the candidate has completed all the requirements and have appeared for the examinations / practical etc. for the final year/final term and that the results is awaited for obtaining the bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification.
    b. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit such certificate latest on the registration day.
    c. However, the admission will be confirmed provided that final mark sheet and degree certificate are submitted not later than September 30, 2011 and if the candidate has met the prescribed eligibility criteria.
    d. Non-fulfilment of the above conditions/dates will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

    Admission Criteria:- Admission to School of Petroleum Management is based on merit of CAT score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Management - Executive (PGDPMX)

    Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Management - Executive (PGDPMX) is a two year Programme at School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar leading to a P.G. Diploma in Petroleum Management.

    The curriculum is designed to meet the requirement of energy industry and more specifically the Oil & Gas sector.

    The PGDPMX will be conducted on quarterly contact hour basis. The two years’ programme is divided into eight modules of seven days each. One module will be conducted every quarter. Classes will be held from Monday to Sunday once in a quarter. Each day 5 Sessions of 75 minutes each. Module - I to Module – III will be general management and Module –IV to Module –VI will be sector specific modules focusing on Oil & Gas /Energy/Allied Sector Management.

    Eligibility:-
