Description

VS Dental College & Hospital is one of the best dental college in Bangalore which was set up in the year 1986, affiliated to Bangalore University and now is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college is located in the heart of the city close to main Rail and Bus Station. Occupying nearly 1,20,000 sq.ft. The College got it recognition from D.C.I. in the year 1992. Dental Council of India has permitted Post Graduate Studies in the year 2001 in all the specialities Dentistry. Today V.S. Dental College and Hospital is one of the most sought after institutions in India both for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions.

Clinics and laboratories are well equipped with state of the art equipment. Pre clinical departments are located in the new building of KIMS hospital and Banashankari campus. College buses are available for transport of students from pre Clinical block. Excellent clinical training is rendered to students and there are about 300 - 500 patients.

  • B.D.S

    Duration:-  4 + 1 Year Internship

    Eligibilty For Admission

    1. The candidates should have passed the two years PUC examination conducted by the PU. Education Board, Karnataka State, with English & Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
       
      OR
       
      The candidates should have passed the B.Sc. Examination of Bangalore University or any other statutory University provided. He/She has passed the B.Sc examination not less than three of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.
       
    2. The candidates should have secured not less than 50% of the total marks in English and Science subjects taken altogether at the qualifying examination.
       
    3. The candidates should have completed seventeen years of age as on 31st December of the year admission.
       
       
    4. The selection is based on the Common entrance test (CET) conducted once a year by the Karnataka Government for all the students from the state and country seeking admission into the course.
       
    5. Among the total number of seats available 15% are filled directly by the Management (N.R.I. Quota), the rest are divided into merit quota (50%) Payment (Karnataka and non Karnataka) quota (35%) and are allotted by the Govt. of Karnataka based on the ranking obtained at the C.E.T.Examination.
       

  • MDS (Oral & Maxillo-facial Surgery)

    Duration:- 3 Years

    Eligibilty For Admission:-

    A CANDIDATE FOR THE Admission TO THE MDS Course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a degree of BDS from a Indian university recognized by the Dental council of India. The duration of the course is three years consisting of six terms. The academic term for the MDS course will start from 1st September of every year.

    To be eligible for MDS course, a candidate should have passed BDS course from a recognized college and should have completed one years housemanship as on 30th May of the year.

  • MDS (Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics)

    Duration:- 3 Years

    Eligibilty For Admission:-

    A CANDIDATE FOR THE Admission TO THE MDS Course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a degree of BDS from a Indian university recognized by the Dental council of India. The duration of the course is three years consisting of six terms. The academic term for the MDS course will start from 1st September of every year.

  • MDS (Oral Medicine)

Infrastructure

 

The institute doesn't have a very huge campus and it also lacks sports facilities. The campus contains greenery all around but it lacks infrastructure facility. The classrooms are usually cleaned but there are less number of benches and the  labs also contains less machineries, the campus also requires a top speed internet facility to make it count in top dental institutes in India. Hostel for boys and girls are provided separately with proper facilities which makes per person cost of 30000 per annum. Apart from these the  positive thing is, students are provided with bank facilities within the campus so that they can do their regular transactions.

Fees:- Fees is divided for the different category of students. The annual fees for the Karnataka CET students is Rs. 33, 0000 and for the UGET students is Rs. 2.4L. Additional fees are also collected for the miscellaneous expenses which occur throughout the year.
