Group Overview:- Compensation Accounting Technology
Compensation Accounting’s mission is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. The solutions in this space are broadly broken down in two functions; a) Cash Compensation and b) Equity Compensation. Cash Compensation is responsible for the payment of all salaries, bonus, and other types of remuneration paid to employee of the Firm. Four payroll hubs are supported; Jersey City, London, Hong Kong and Bangalore. Information from various vendors and departments is collected. Country specific payroll vendors are used to calculate local taxes. Responsible for reporting of wages information and processing tax payments to domestic and international tax authorities. Equity Compensation Accounting is responsible for the global financial accounting, expensing and reporting of employee stock and option awards that need to conform to all US GAAP and other regional accounting requirements, such as IFRS. Specifically, responsible for allocation of equity compensation expense to cost centers and generating disclosures for regulatory reporting.
Role/Summary: Compensation Accounting Java Developer
The role will be to analyze and develop technical solutions for a range of projects across the Compensation Accounting business with primary responsibility on development of new applications and undertaking enhancements and support of existing applications. The core application is developed in Java, J2EE. Strong database skills are also required.
The successful candidate will be joining a small local team that is part of a large global team. Due to the nature of the application, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills. He / she will be presented with opportunities to take personal ownership for the end to end delivery of some small projects and at other times be involved in large strategic global projects.
Demonstrates ability to operate independently to design, develop and implement software.
Defines and performs analysis of moderately complex problems.
Responsible for several large components of complex projects specifically focused on coding.
Analyze, code, and test software (both new and changes to existing programs) from requirements specifications.
UG - Any Graduate
PG - Any PG Course
5 to 7 years of systems experience
Java, J2EE, Web development (JSP/HTML), frameworks (Spring / Hibernate) Unix, Linux skills are required
SQL and RDBMS knowledge is required
Strong Analytical and design skills are required
Must thrive in a fast pace environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead small team.
Knowledge of planning and estimating the project.
VB .Net skils, nice to have.
Qualifications: Degree Required
