Heading the airport services and security functions at the international location.
Ensuring on-time performance.
Team Management - Delegation of powers and authority to his team of officers in line with the chain of command, assigning specific duties to them, providing them with constant guidance.
Initiating appropriate action in all cases of negligence on duty.
Ensuring all the Airport Handling regulations and procedures and instructions are in force, including those described in the Airport Handling Manual and shall keep the copies of all the orders and circulars from all the Governing bodies in his office for quick reference.
Formulation of, on the basis of the Airport Handling Manual, detailed standing orders, function- wise, for each category of staff, and ensure that the staff is thoroughly conversant with their duties and responsibilities by way of personal interviews and on-the-job briefings through frequent visits.
Conducting periodical inspections of the base station and outstations himself and through his team of officers in conformity with the norms fixed.
Ensuring prompt rectification of the deficiencies or shortcomings in implementation of the policies at the areas pointed out by VP Airports or by the inspecting officer of Quality Control/Safety Department or the DGCA and send an action taken report to the Headquarters without delay for his station.
Developing pattern of manpower deployment so as to make optimum use of available manpower resources.
Maintaining close co-ordination with Government departments and Law enforcement agencies concerned with the working of the airline.
Maintaining proper records of all cases of theft and pilferage and take appropriate measures to prevent occurrence of such incidents..
Sending incident reports to the Headquarters on all the matters affecting the operations or the overall work environment of the organization, in addition to periodical reports that may be prescribed from time to time.
Ensuring discipline, efficiency and welfare of the staff working under him and keep the VP airports posted with such matters as deserve his attention.
Holding periodical meeting with different categories of staff and ensure that effective action is taken to improve their turn-out, enhance efficiency, remove impediments, redress their grievances, and take such measures as would be necessary for better functioning of the Airports ..
Educational & Professional Requirements
Experienced with domestic and international carriers in a similar role.
Must have headed a large station.
Knowledge and exposure to all airport functions including security.
Dealt with regulatory authorities and governing bodies in domestic and international locations
Well versed with all airport handling regulations and procedures both domestic and international.
Administrative skills, Ability to lead a station, Good analytical and interpersonal skills, Liasioning ability, Problem solver and go-getter.
