Job Description:-

§ Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff. § Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: - Providing training and technical guidance to department associates, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution - Participating in setting department standard operating plans - Recognizing and celebrating team successes - Achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility § Performs other duties as appropriate. Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities) The candidate is required to work with various parties for accomplishing the job, the parties include: · Director of Finance (Direct Report) - Keeps informed of day to day accounting issues. Solicits support and advice as needed to resolve operational and accounting issues and to continuously remain involved in the refinement of processes and procedures to increase productivity and find the most efficient way of doing things. · Departmental Heads Provide accurate and timely information to the departments to help them control operations within the parameters of the operational budget The candidate is accountable for the following areas: · Problem Solving - Identifies problems and employ problem-solving techniques in an analytical and organized manner through to a creative, effective and quick resolution. Shows understanding of issues in relation to the broad organization and business, utilizing relevant cross-functional knowledge. Weighs pros and cons of each alternative to arrive at the ‘best’ workable one. Generates imaginative solutions to operational issues without compromising Company established standards. Actively originates new ideas and able to modify the context in order to maximize the potential of an idea. Technical Knowledge - Understands the in depth operational activities of the Accounting and Purchasing flow. Has working knowledge of SUN and continues to expand this knowledge as version upgrades and documentation updates are implemented. The candidate should possess the following behavioral skills: · Communication – Communicates clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing. Chooses the appropriate vehicle and tone most appropriate for the message to be delivered. Conducts meetings (one on one or any size group), verbally guiding and informing others. Uses active, empathetic listening as a tool to understand and support each interaction, internal and external to the company. · Team Orientation – Collaborates with the team in responding to operational issues to arrive at a workable solution in line with Marriott standards. Is readily accessible to the team. Creates a cooperative working environment for success. Defines individual and shared responsibilities. Maintains or enhances self-esteem in all communication with team members. Addresses conflicts within the group quickly. Recognizes contributions of hotel and both Marriott and Vendor project team members. · Interpersonal Relations - Builds an effective work team, with or without the support of direct reporting relationships. Demonstrates ability to foster positive business relationships in various environments and with people of varying personalities and diverse backgrounds and to resolve issues using negotiation and mediation, creating a win-win situation between parties. Essential components are empathy, active listening, and influencing others. Perceiving the needs of others, developing long-term relationships that enhance understanding, respect and communication, and effectively dealing with conflict are important components of this competency. · Results/Goal Orientation - Maintains a high activity and achievement level. Gets things done on time to acceptable standards, rendering decisions and taking appropriate action to complete tasks, yet question the reasonableness or validity of decisions or courses of action to ensure value to the client and to Marriott. Demonstrates willingness to take personal responsibility for actions and the delivery of results, remaining effective regardless of uncertainty or ambiguity. · Leadership – Works effectively with limited supervision. Understands the goals and expectations of the hotel and is able to communicate own role in achieving the work team/department goal. Networks and makes informal presentations. Supports other members of the project team with internal and external customers. · Impact - Commits to the success of the hotel as reflected in the level of performance and achievement, setting high personal goals and demonstrating high achievement motivation. Gains agreement, acceptance of an idea, plan or activity. · Change Management (Flexibility) - Initiates communication and action about purpose of change in a positive manner. Accepts change openly, taking ownership to ensure success of change. Helps others deal with change. Identifies opportunities for change.

Responsibilities:- The Finance Manager plays a vital role by ensuring the smooth functioning of the entire Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory and Stores Operations and related function in accordance to Company Management Standards. The Finance is to ensure, that the hotel follows Marriott’s Policies and Procedures with regards to the day to day operations of the Purchasing, Receiving and Accounting Office.
