1. EXPECTED WORK
The Assistant Brand Manager will have a dual responsibility and will be responsible for coordinating all BD support work for projects and regional roll out work for India. The ABM will also have independent responsibility as RBM for Bangladesh and Nepal. The ABM will support the RBM/ GPL in running the networks of the global projects that the RBM/ GPL works on. These projects are global in nature and will require working with teams from across Asia and the Middle East and Latin America. The scope of work will include supporting all work on the project including concept development, the various aspects of consumer research that will need to be carried out during the course of the project(s) and, IBC development. This will include coordination for across a cross-functional and a multi-regional team, such as ensuring the development and delivery of the stimulus on time, working with countries to adapt the key communication and key visual to the local requirements and taking up all roll out work for projects in the given countries of responsibility. The cross functional team will range from product development, packaging development, supply chain, market research and the advertising agency and BD/ BB regions. He / She may also lead some projects at a later stage such as developing the small pack strategy for South Asia, core flavour variant test pilots etc.
2. RESOURCE TO BE MANAGED UNDER POSITIONS AUTHORITY
There will be no direct reports under this position. The Assistant Brand Manager will be responsible for the Project OTIF and for key BHC metrics for SA.
He will be responsible for rasing SPTS proposals, managing payments for projects, but the budgets will be managed by RBM/ GPL
3. PROBLEM SOLVING
The Assistant Brand Manager will need to work with the Regional Brand Manager to find answers to all the 6Ps of the marketing mix including the right packaging, product and proposition for the projects that he / she works on. He / she will also be responsible for supporting the team in India to deliver the business results for the year by providing all the adequate support from the innovation team.
The role requires a high level of thought leadership. The nature of the projects will require the candidate to look at innovative ways of delivering the right product-proposition to the consumer
5. TASK HORIZON
The task horizon can vary from as little as 3 months for activities like organising events like War Games and can go up to a period of 12 months for evaluating launch performances, communication impact and business results.
6. LATERAL CONTACTS
The Assistant Brand Manager will need to coordinate extensively with the Regional CMI team, supply chain team, CTC Mumbai, packaging team, the brand building team for India, the finance team and his / her marketing counterparts in the other regions in South East Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
The Assistant Brand Manager will need to work closely with the advertising agency, packaging design agencies, Alia and artwork development agencies and research agencies during the course of the project work.
8. PERSONAL PROFILE
The candidate should have had experience with working on a brand – either in brand building, brand innovation or with CMI. Team working skills and influencing skills is a must given the constitution of the project team that he / she will work on. The candidate should display innovativeness in thought and ideas. He / she must have an analytical mind to understand the nuances of research and research findings and also work on the business case of the projects.
• Qualification – Bachelor's Degree
• Additional Qualification - MBA is preferred, but not a requirement
• Experience – 1 - 4 years from Marketing/Research
• Industry Preference – FMCG; other Industry is also fine
• Key Skills - Achievement of Sales & Marketing Shares
• Position is based out of Mumbai (could require a relocation to Singapore at a later stage)
