Educational/Technical Qualification:- Diploma / Licentiate in Mechanical Engg. / Chemical Engg./ Instrumentation Engg. / Electronics Engg. / Electrical Engg./ Information Technology (3 years after SSC or 02 years after HSC/B.Sc.) with minimum of 60% marks in Diploma.

AGE LIMIT: 19 years Minimum and 24 Years Maximum as on 18/12/2012
Upper age limit prescribed above is relaxable as under:-
a) upto a maximum of five years for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe candidates.
b) upto a maximum of three years for OBC candidates.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS : Minimum Height : 160 cms. Minimum weigh : 45.5 Kg (Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)
WRITTEN EXAMINATION/SELECTION : Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mumbai for 2 to 3 days for the Written Test/Interview. Written Examination of one-hour duration will be conducted and will comprise of objective (multiple) type questions. The syllabus for the saidexamination will be based on subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level as the case may be. Those candidates qualifying in the written Examination shallbe short-listed for interview to be held on the following day.
Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of performance of the candidate in interview and no weightage will be given for marks scored in the written examination. The decision of this Research Centre in this regard is final.
Total Duration of Training Period : Two years
Stipend During Training : `9300/- per month for the 1st year and ≈ `10500/- for the 2nd year.

Bhabha Atomic Research Center - BARC was established in 1967. BARC provides a broad spectrum of scientific and technological activities extending from basic laboratory bench scale research to scaled up plant level operations and its functional domain covers all walks of science and technology stretching from classical school of thoughts to the emerging novel fields of interest. The core mandate of this institution is to provide Research and Development support required to sustain one of the major peaceful applications of nuclear energy viz. power generation. This includes conceptualization of the programme, finalisation of the design of the reactor and the peripheral components, preparation of computer generated working models and their evaluation studies under simulated reactor running conditions, identification, selection and testing of materials and components for their risk analysis under extreme conditions of reactor operating environments, development and testing of new reactor fuel materials etc. Besides, BARC also extends its expertise to chemical processing of spent fuels, safe disposal of nuclear waste besides developing new isotope application techniques in industries, medicine, agriculture etc.
