Job Description:-

Purpose of the Role: Why does this job/ role exist, what value does it add?

• Business Analyst role to support requirements gathering, analysis and functional specifications

process during the project lifecycle in the Corporate Banking technology

• The team is responsible support, BAU and application development for Corporate Banking Technology

within Global Development Services (GDS). The team is split-location between London and Gurgaon.

Responsibilities for this role will involve providing support for delivery of projects which may be

enhancements or new applications for Corporate Banking business

• The team this role sits within is responsible for the support/ development of various applications for

eFlex area and technology footprint includes ASP.Net/ C#/ Oracle. This team is responsible for day-to-day

enhancements and support of existing application as and when required. Team members will be

expected to be flexible and can expect to be involved in both project and ongoing business as usual

deliverables for both systems

Activities: What does the jobholder have to do?

Role responsibilities

Leadership/ Client Engagement/ Management

• Assist in driving the Business Engagement from India

• Lead/ manage multiple eFlex project deliveries

• Track and report status to all the stakeholders

• Seen as a Role model to the team and mentors the BA team to grow along with self career progression

• Build the team further to grow in numbers by contributing to the hiring and bringing the new members

up to speed


• Owns the deliveries including Development, Enhancements, BAU and Level 3 Support

• Own various design reviews and code reviews as part of a structured software development lifecycle

• Ensures quality and defect free deliveries through SIT, UAT and production by owning standards,

guidelines and development tools

• Owns schedules, resources and deliveries

• Release management through SIT, UAT and into production

• Ensuring deadlines are met and highlighting showstoppers in advance

• Undertake 3rd level support for systems including problem diagnosis and defect fixing

• Defect tracking and management


• Might need to work in shift to support UK business hours on rotation basis (India and UK Hours)


• Ensuring system can be supported by a broader team without in-depth domain knowledge by capturing

and sharing knowledge within the team

• Implement various best practices on source control management, Change management, Build and

release management and ensure compliance

• Quality assurance of releases and liaising with various teams including testing, production services for

timely deliverables

• Drives the technology vision of application area in terms of architectural and design initiatives,

establish standards, guidelines for the application development and own them

Key deliverables: What are the key outcomes and what does the jobholder have to produce (objectives)?

• Produce BA deliverables during the project lifecycle e.g. PDD, Wireframes etc.

• Review quality of product and output of the development and test teams

• Assist testing and development by providing BA inputs as required

• Participate in analysis and design of enhancements requests and deliver changes to production

applications in conjunction with the Technical Lead

• Well planning of deliverables and keeping line manager in loop on the progress

• As and when required, direct interaction with stakeholders and appropriate reporting to the


• Liaison point with the business to ascertain requirements, firm up scope and timelines discussion

together with the Team Lead

• Own functional specifications and produce clear and detailed documentation which includes ToR, PID,

PDD, etc

• Ensuring project progressing as per plan, escalating issues/queries as and when required

• Primary liaison point with the business to ascertain requirements, firm up scope and timelines

Person Specification

Essential Experience: What previous experience is required to do this job/role?


• 4+ years experience working as Business Analyst in Banking Domain with experience in technology

like .Net/Oracle/ SQL Server with documentation exposure

• Should be able to clearly articulate Functional requirements with high granularity

• Manage business expectations at all times liaising with technical lead for the project. Escalate and

manage risks, delays appropriately

• Act as SPOC for Issue resolution from both business and technology ends, and possible change

request creation.

• Should have good communication/collaboration skills to co-ordination with technology lead and UK


• • Be highly numerate and have very strong business English (verbal/written) to communicate with

business and peers.

• Must have banking concepts all clear and should be able to advise/cater knowledge to team whenever


• Should be able to work independently with minimal help from peer/lead.

• Flexible with the ability to multitask at different levels.

• Team player with focus on delivery and customer service.

Job Requirments:-

Qualifications: What training or qualifications are required to do the job/role?


• Diploma/Graduate from a reputed institution Desirable:

• Business Analysis or domain certifications

Technical Competence: What are the specific skills/ style and abilities required of the job/ role?


• Experience in preparing project estimation and prioritizing business requirements

• Possess strong knowledge of UML in creating Use Case, Sequence, Activity diagram etc

• Complete software development lifecycle experience

• Experience with a planning tool like Microsoft Project

• Business Interaction capturing requirements, high level estimates, firming up timelines/ milestones for

the deliverables

• Planning, Tracking and Reporting to all the stake holders

• Should have basic Database knowledge and should be able to create ERD diagrams if require

• Aware of industry standard documentation guidelines

• Must have understanding of Web applications in .NET environment to convince business on technology limitation and providing alternates


• Hands-on experience on any/all tools like Rational Requisite Pro, Rational XDE, Visio, Microsoft

Project, TFS, SVN etc.

• Exposure to Testing tools like Test Director, Mercury Quality Centre etc.

• Business Objects Universe designing and report creation.

• Exposure to agile methodologies.
