Branch - General Duty

Educational Qualification - Should hold a Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (ie.1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree Candidates wherever applicable). Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education with 60%  aggregate marks in Maths & Physics [Candidates not in possession of Physics & Maths in 10 + 2 (Intermediate) level are not eligible for General Duty(GD) & General Duty Pilot].

Gender - Male

Age (Born between) - 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive).


Branch - General Duty Pilot

Educational Qualification - Should hold a Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (ie.1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree Candidates wherever applicable). Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education with 60%  aggregate marks in Maths & Physics [Candidates not in possession of Physics & Maths in 10 + 2 (Intermediate) level are not eligible for General Duty(GD) & General Duty Pilot].

TECHNICAL BRANCH IS FOR ONLY OBC/SC/ST CATEGORY

Branch - Technical branch (Mechanical and Electrical)

Educational Qualification -

(i) Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or Should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in any of the discipline listed below with 60% marks.

(a) Engineering Branch Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.
(b) ElectricalBranch Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or  Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. or Power Electronics.

*  All the above streams of Engg. Must be recognised by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

(ii)  Atleast 60% marks in aggregate in Physics and Maths in 12th class. or Three year diploma course with an aggregate of 60% .       

Gender - Male

Age (Born between) - 01.07.1988 to 30.06.1995 for OBC & 01.07.1986 to 30.06.1995 for SC/ST (Both dates inclusive)


LAW BRANCH IS FOR ONLY OBC/SC CATEGORY

Branch - Law

Educational Qualification - A Degree in Law with minimum 60 % marks from a recognised University. (Three years  degree in Law  after graduation) or (Five years after 10+2 examination)

Gender - Male

Age (Born between) - 01.07.1983 to 30.06.1995 for OBC & 01.07.1981 to 30.06.1995 for SC (Both dates inclusive)


Branch - Pilots

Educational Qualification - 12th class pass with 60% marks in aggregate and should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) approved by DGCA on the date of Preliminary Selection.

Gender - Male and Female

Age (Born between) - 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1997 (both dates inclusive).  


Branch - General Duty (Women) 

Educational Qualification - Should hold a Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 60%  marks in aggregate. Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII  of  10+2+3 scheme of education with 60% aggregate marks of both subjects.

Gender - Female

Age (Born between) - 01.07.1991 to 30.06.1995 (both dates inclusive).

Medical Standards

(a) Height.

(i)  Asst Commandant (GD) and Technical: 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
(ii)  Asst Commandant General duty (Women): 152 cms.
(iii)  Asst  Commandant  (Pilot)  and  Asst  Commandant  Commercial Pilot  License (CPL)  holders  for  Short  Service  Appointment  (Men): Minimum 162.5 cms  and maximum 197 cms, leg length minimum 99 cms.
(iv)  Asst  Commandant  (Pilot)  and  Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders for Short Service Appointment (Women): Standard height 152 cms leg length minimum 91 cms.

(b) Weight.- Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

(c) Chest - Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.

(d) Eye Sight -

(i) Asst Commandant (GD) and Asst Comdt GD(Women) -

6/6  6/9 - Uncorrected without Glass. 
6/6  6/6 -Corrected with Glass.

(ii) Asst Commandant GD(Pilot) CPL Holders SSA

6/6  in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6.

(iii)  Asst Commandant (Tech) 

6/36 6/36-Uncorrected without Glass.
6/6 6/6 -Corrected with Glass.

(iii)  Asst Commandant (Law) 

6/60 6/60 - Uncorrected without Glass.
6/6  6/12-Corrected with Glass

Note:The above mentioned requirements are broad medical guidelines/ standards only. However, in addition to above, some more medical standards are required and same will be examined / tested during initial medical examination post  FSB. No waiver will be considered for the above standards.The Coast Guard order on medical standards of the officers will be the final authority in case of any dispute.
