Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from designated Districts of State of Tamil Nadu, UTs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry and Karaikal to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘Y’ (Except Automobile Technician, Ground Training Instructor, Indian Air Force (Police) and Musician) Trades will be held at 8 Airmen Selection Centre C/O Air Force Station Tambaram, Tambaram East, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) from 23 March 2014 to 26 March 2014.
DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK:-
Candidates should be born between 01 FEBRUARY 1994 to 31 MAY 1997 (both days inclusive).
Upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.
Passed Intermediate/10+2/ equivalent examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards, with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
(b) Passed two year Vocational Course affiliated/recognised by CBSE / State Education Boards/Councils duly recognised at par with 10+2 by AIU with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course
Note : - Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2/equivalent will be considered (For example, 49.9% will be treated as 49% only).

The Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932. The Motto of Indian Air Force has been taken from eleventh chapter of the Gita, the Discourse given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra during the Great War of Mahabharata. The Lord is showing His Supreme Divine form to Arjuna and the great form of the Lord is reaching the sky with glory, evoking fear and loss of self-control in the mind of Arjuna.The Indian Air Force, similarly, aims to overwhelm the adversaries with application of aerospace power in defence of the nation.
The Crests in the Indian Air Force comprises of a standard frame. The central portion of the frame contains the individual formation sign with a motto shown in the scroll at the foot of the frame. The unit sign is drawn inside a circle of 3 inches diameter. The name of the formation of the units is shown in the upper half of the circle while Bhartiya Vayu Sena inscribed if the lower half. The crest anf the motto are designed based on the role of the formation.
The Air Force ensign, different from the Air Force Colours, is blue in colour, containing the National Flag in the first quadrant and a roundel consisting of the colours of the National Flag i.e. saffron, white and green in the centre. This ensign was adopted in 1951 .
