This opening is for Engine Validation Lead in Bangalore as part of Engine Component COE organization. This position will have responsibility of providing support for various engine programs in identifying, planning & execution of Mechanical & performance validation of reciprocating engines & engine components. Engine Validation lead is required to interface with internal engineering team, Global lab organization in successful completion of Engine validation program
Define & execute engine & component validation program supporting various engine programs meeting the schedule, budget & performance requirements
Responsible for developing validation strategy for reciprocating engine component mechanical validation
Responsible for writing robust validation plans along with respective component engineers & reviewing the same for meeting requirement and support execution of validation plan
Responsible for developing detailed field validation program and support field validation
Responsible for validation data analysis & report out
Responsible for engine tear down analysis & report out
Technical leadership and mentoring to team members enabling them to excel in engine component validation
Drive the culture of innovation/ideation & IP generation
Drive six sigma process rigor to continuously improve the quality of output
Responsible for business metrics related to tollgate reviews, project management, schedules and quality
Communicate project status, schedules, upcoming deliverables, and technical solutions between various teams. Method of communications to include, but not limiting to, design review process, validation review meetings, field performance review meeting and team meetings.
Bachelor/Postgraduate in Mechanical engg with 8+ years experience in engine design, performance & mechanical validation
Expertise in failure modes & validation strategy for high cycle fatigue, low cycle fatigue, wear & degradation over time
Proficiency in design, test & analysis tool relevant to job function
Proven Program/project management/influencing/communication skills
Experience with large diesel engine design, development & testing
Six sigma GB/BB certification or experience with statistical method in engineering
Good understanding of mechanical interface needs
Good understanding of component physics, materials & failure modes
Experience with Strain gauging, LCF/HCF/NVH evaluation, use of Reliability tools such as ALTA, Weibull, LMS and Minitab
Proven ability to drive/embrace change
Proven problem solving & analytical skills
Good interpersonal, communication and organizational integration skills
