Job Summary & Responsibilities:
Senior technical lead role for the Core team within the Sales Services Technology business unit.
The Sales Services Technology team builds applications common to all institutional sales desks. The SST core team is focused on building scalable, reusable and extensible services and frameworks that enable sales to find new trading opportunities, for facilitating the distribution of content from sales to clients, for client and sales-facing web sites and web frameworks, for analytical tools, and for the tools and applications used by sales management and sales leadership. In addition to Bangalore, the SST core team has a presence in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
The candidate will run a team of 5-7 developers to design, deliver and support sales and client-facing applications, services, and frameworks. Bangalore is the focus of the SST content distribution strategy. The team builds and maintains applications that distribute research and commentary to clients, track client interest of particular publications, and report client consumption of content. These applications are used directly by the sales force, and are critical to driving new trades to the desk.
Candidate will work closely with the SST CTO and the leads in each of the regions in order to define technical strategy. As lead of the Bangalore team, the candidate will be responsible for driving the strategy within the region and setting local direction and vision. Candidate is responsible for hiring new employees, and ensuring technical growth within the team.
Defining and executing the Content Distribution strategy for the SST core team
Working with the User Experience and Business Analysis teams to spec out functional requirements, and turn them into solutions
Working with technical clients to deliver common components and frameworks.
Manage a team of 5-7 developers locally, including mentorship, coaching, and guiding individuals along the technical career path
Ownership and execution of the production support rotation, and working with the global support teams to quickly address and resolve runtime issues.
Work with the global technology team to come up with scalable, extensible, reliable and maintainable system designs, and direct a local team of developers to deliver quality and timely solutions.
Meet regularly with other leads in Sales Services Technology in other regions to discuss priorities, problems, and project status. Be accountable for regional issues, and know when and how to escalate locally and abroad.

Suggest improvements to the existing software development process.
UG - Any Graduate
PG - Any PG Course
12 years of professional experience building enterprise Java applications
In-depth experience with multi-threaded, asynchronous and real time applicationsStrong OO analysis and design pattern experience
In-depth knowledge of build systems (Ant, Ivy, Quickbuild) and source control (SVN, CVS)
Relations DB experience required. Sybase and DB2 UDB experience preferred.
Knowledge of web application development, including HTTP and Servlets
Cursory knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS).
