About Guangdong University of Technology
The Guangdong University of Technology was established in 1952. Guangdong University of Technology is a key university of Guangdong Province with a history of over 50 years. It is a multi-disciplinary university offering a wide range of courses in engineering, science and technology, business management, liberal arts and law, with major emphasis on the study of engineering. Guangdong University of Technology is privileged to confer Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor's degrees on students.
The University is located in Guangzhou, in south China. It has several campuses with a total land area of more than 2.23 square kilometers and floorspace of over 1.62 square kilometers. The main campus is located at No. 100 Waihuan Xi Road, in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center. The University has more than 2000 full-time teachers. At present, the full-time student population is over 45, 000. The University also enrolls international students and various levels of continuing education students .
The University comprises 20 faculties and schools, offering 60 bachelor's programs, 11 first-grade master's and doctoral programs, 10 doctoral programs, 52 master's programs (including MBA program), 14 engineering master degree programs, and 2 stations for post-doctoral research.
The University has set up 15 provincial key disciplines, 2 provincial key labs, 10 key labs designated by Guangdong Department of Education, 26 provincial key courses, 13 provincial name-brand specialties, 1 national and 11 provincial excellent courses, and 1 national and 9 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. The University has also established research institutes and centers in various fields. The equipment and devices for teaching and research are valued at over 406 million RMB. The University library has a collection of over 4.33 million volumes and over 1.57 million electronic journals and books.
The University attaches great importance to scientific research and disciplinary development. For years, the University has undertaken a large number of key research projects for the state, provincial and local governments, as well as international joint research projects, resulting in a series of important achievements. The University has also established several joint labs, joint R & D centers and institutes with renowned companies or universities at home and abroad. A number of the disciplines of the University have developed unique strengths in fields closely related to these joint efforts.
The University actively engages in international exchanges and cooperation. It has established close links and partnerships with over 50 universities, enterprises and research institutes in America, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Thailand and other places.
