Mountain State University (MSU) is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational, not-for-profit private university based in Beckley, West Virginia. The university offers undergraduate and master's degree programs, most of which focus on professional fields in business, technology, health and human services. Many of MSU's degree programs such as Accounting and Legal Studies are available online.
MSU now offers a doctoral program in Executive Leadership and is the largest private university in West Virginia that offers classroom instruction.
MSU's president, Charles H. Polk, is the highest-paid university president in West Virginia, and among the 30 highest-paid private university presidents in the United States.
