About The University of Texas at Brownsville
The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College, frequently abbreviated UTB/TSC is an educational institution located in Brownsville, Texas, on the land once occupied by Fort Brown. It is a member of the University of Texas System. The institution was formed from a partnership between Texas Southmost College and the University of Texas-Pan American at Brownsville. Since the partnership in 1991, the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College has been a growing force in South Texas higher education, providing unique opportunities for more than 17,000 students coming from various walks of life. Through this unique partnership between UTB and TSC, students receive the hometown flavor of a community college, while at the same time the rigors of a four-year institution. The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College Partnership offers Certificates, and Associate, Baccalaureate, and Graduate degrees in liberal arts, the sciences, and professional programs designed to meet student demand as well as regional, national, and international needs.

The UTB-TSC campus continues to grow physically with the additions of the International Technology, Education, Commerce Campus (formerly Amigoland Mall), the Education and Business Complex (Fall 2006), and Recreation, Education and Kinesiology Center (Spring 2009). The university student population continues to grow, with the latest figures at 17,247

Texas Southmost College (TSC) was established in 1926 under the name "The Junior College of the Lower Rio Grande Valley." It admitted its first class on September 21 of that same year. In 1931, its name was changed to "Brownsville Junior College." In 1950, the institution was given its current name.

The University of Texas at Brownsville has been a member of The University of Texas System since  1991. In cooperation with Texas Southmost College, The University serves more than 12,000 students at its campus located in Brownsville, Texas. In Partnership with Texas Southmost College, The University offers a wide range of courses from Associate and Baccalaureate degrees to graduate classes and continuing education.

The Mission

The mission of The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC) Partnership is to provide accessible, affordable, postsecondary education of high quality, to conduct research which expands knowledge and to present programs of workforce training and continuing education, public service, and cultural value. The partnership combines the strengths of the community college and those of an upper-level university by increasing student access and eliminating inter-institutional barriers while fulfilling the distinctive responsibilities of each type of institution.

UTB/TSC places excellence in learning and teaching at the core of its commitments. Q : What is the criteria for study in UK for international students?

Ans : if student have done only 10+2 then you need minimum 4 Ielts score for admission and then you need to pay college fees for CAS and then assess your financial and lodge your visa application file. and if student have done any 2 years full time diploma after 10+2 then Ielts is not mandatory and even for PG courses few colleges grant admission without Ielts also. Embassy also says that for Level 6 and pg courses Ielts is not mandatory. for any further query about this apex.study@yahoo.in
