About University of Oxford
The University of Oxford was established in 1096 at Oxford UK. Oxford was the first University in the English-speaking world.

The university has over 22000 students at Oxford, including 13000 undergraduates and 9000 postgraduates. Oxford has one of the lowest drop-out rates in the UK: figures published in summer 2009 by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) show that only 1.8 per cent of Oxford students dropped out, compared with the national average of 9 per cent.

55 per cent of undergraduates are studying for degrees in the humanities and social sciences, and 48 per cent in the medical, mathematical, physical and life sciences. The remaining 5 per cent are studying for undergraduate level diplomas and certificates offered by the Department for Continuing Education.

Oxford's teaching and research is consistently in the top rank nationally and internationally, and is at the forefront of medical, scientific and technological achievement.
