Welcome to CDAC Admission Section. Here you will find CDAC Admission 2016-17, C-CAT Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern, Common Admission Test Eligibility, Application Form and Notification.
From academic year 2016 admissions to all PG diploma courses of CDAC will be done through a Common Admission Test (C-CAT)
C-CAT Paper Pattern /Syllabus:-
C-CAT Exam will be conducted manually (Pen and paper based) at various cities all across India.
C-CAT will be conducted in the form of three test papers labeled as
SECTION - A (English, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude),
SECTION - B (C Programming, Data Structures, Data Communications and Network, OOPs and Operating Systems) and
SECTION - C (Computer Architecture, Digital Electronics and Microprocessors), each of one hour duration, having 50 questions of 3 marks each (maximum 150 marks).
These test papers have to be answered in a machine-gradable Objective Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening appropriate bubbles using black ball point pen only. Since the ORS will be evaluated by electronic means, it is imperative that the instructions given on the question paper booklet and ORS are carefully read and followed by the candidates. The objective type questions in all the test papers will have four choices as possible answers, of which, only one will be correct. There will be +3 (plus three) marks for correct answers and negative marking for wrong answers in all the test papers. For wrong answer to an objective type question, candidates will get -1 (negative one) of mark. Multiple answers to a question will be treated as a wrong answer. For each un-attempted question, you will be awarded 0 (zero) marks.
Depending upon the choice(s) of the program(s) made by the candidate he/she will have to either appear in just one test paper (SECTION - A) or two test papers (SECTION - A and SECTION - B) or all the three test papers (SECTION - A, SECTION - B and SECTION - C).
To apply for admission to a desired programme, a candidate is required to qualify in the corresponding test paper(s) and also satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria of the respective academic programme.
Candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2012 are also eligible to appear in the test. By qualifying in C-CAT 2012, candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that:-
(a) all parts of their final examination shall be completed by the date of registration in the programme, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility by 30 September 2012.
