Welcome to Diploma Admission in Tamilnadu Section. Here you will find Diploma Admission in Tamilnadu 2020-21, Government Engineering Polytechnic Admission Procedure, Eligibility and Application Form.

There are at present 464 Polytechnics in Tamilnadu State offering Diploma courses, Post Diploma courses and Certificate courses on various branches of studies in Engineering and Technology. Ten Institutes of Catering Technology and Hotel Management offering 3 year Diploma courses are also affiliated to this Directorate. Candidates who complete the Xth Standard are eligible for admission for Polytechnic Colleges and XIIth Standard for Catering Institutions. Before the admission process is started, the required qualifications such as Age, Marks required, and Number of Seats in the various categories etc. are published in the leading dailies so that students can decide their choice of polytechnic, course etc. well in advance.

Lateral Entry into Diploma Courses:-

HSC / 10 th std with 2 years ITI students can directly join the second year of the three year Diploma programme under Lateral Entry System in all Polytechnics. Their intake is restricted to 20% of the sanctioned intake of the First year Diploma courses.
