Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is an independent authority entrusted with  functions related to recruitment and promotion for civil servants in various public service departments in the state. The board inturn also advises the government in terms of matters relating to promotion and recruitment in the state of Himachal Pradesh. At present HPPSC conducts direct recruitment for Class I and Class II posts in the state.
