The Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is a ability or qualifying exam open to IIBF members. The main objective of this ability test is ascertain whether IIBF members have the required levels of knowledege in various banking and financial services such as banking technology , customer relations, basic accountancy and legal aspects.
This exam is different from other exams because you need to first become a member of the organizing institute and then apply for the exams. Any person working in the banking and finance industry can apply to the Institute for membership. Individual membership is available on a life membership basis. Subordinate staff of recognized Banking/ Financial Institutions in India, who are members of the Institute, are eligible to appear at examination, provided they have passed the matriculation examination or its equivalent.
The institute’s JAIIB course is equivalent to Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance. IIBF membership form is available on IIBF official website.
Eligibility for JAIIB 2017:-
• The exam is open to IIBF members. (Any person working in the banking and finance industry can apply to the Institute for membership. Individual membership is available on a life membership basis).
• The minimum eligibility qualification is class 10 or equivalent. (The Institute may , however at its discretion, allow any candidate from clerical or supervisory staff cadre of banks to appear at the examination on the recommendation of the Manager of the bank/officer-in-charge of the bank’s office where the candidate is working, even if he/she is not a matriculate or its equivalent.)
• Subordinate staff of recognized Banking/ Financial Institutions in India, who are members of the Institute, are eligible to appear at examination, provided they have passed the matriculation examination or its equivalent.
• New IIBF members are advised to appear for the examination for which they are eligible while intimating their respective membership numbers.
How to apply for JAIIB 2017 exam?
Interested and eligible members wishing to apply for JAIIB 2017 exam are required to do so online www.iibf.com. Following is ten step JAIIB online application procedure for filling JAIIB 2017 online application form.
STEP 01: Go to Institute';s web site www.iibf.org.in
STEP 02: If you are member click on "Members" under ‘Apply for exams online’.
STEP 03: Read the notification and applicant instructions.
STEP 04: Select the examination you wish to apply.
STEP 05: Logon in with your membership number and password.
STEP 06: Read the instructions and accept.
STEP 07: Fill in the details like mode, medium, centre for the exam as also the place of work etc
STEP 08: Click on ';preview'; (Check whether the data is correct, click on ‘accept and submit’ for online payment).
STEP 09: Check details entered in the JAIIB 2015 online application form.
STEP 10: Select the payment option (credit/debit card, net banking) and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process.

JAIIB 2017 Paper Pattern:-
•Candidates are allowed to attempt the examination either in Hindi or English.
•Examination will be conducted in offline mode and also in online mode at certains elected centres.
•The duration of the examination will be of 2 hours
•Each Question Paper will contain approximately 120 objective type multiple choice questions, carrying 100 marks including questions based on case study/caselets.
•The Institute may, however, vary the number of questions to be asked for a subject. There will NOT be negative marking for wrong answers.

(b) Conceptual grasp,
(c) Analytical/logical exposition,
(d) Problem solving,
(e) Case analysis
JAIIB 2017 Passing Criteria:-
Minimum marks for pass in every subject - 50 out of 100 marks.
Candidate securing at least 45 marks in each subject with an aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects of JAIIB examination in a single attempt will also be declared as having passed JAIIB Examination
