Meghalaya Police is  law agency for the state. Since its inception the force has been following Assam Police's pattern of functioning. The hue and cry for reforms has challenged  the force to lay more emphasis on qualitative improvement of manpower along with remedial changes. The theme of latest recruitment and reforms  has been to bring back professionalism in intelligence, prosecution, investigations and other related functions of the department.

Jobs notified in the force

Constable- Constable are recruited for unarmed branch (UBS) as well as armed branch (ABS) of the department

Unarmed Branch covers job profiles of Constable Firemen,Driver Firemen, PRO operators and signals operators of IBM.

Armed Branch covers job profile of state battalion constables, handyman constables, rider constables, PRO, mechanics and driver constable.
