NTSE- National Talent Search Examination is a national level scholarship test conducted to identify talented students. The basic objective of this assessment is to award scholarships to students studying in class 10. This scholarship exam is conducted in two stages namely at the state level and then at the national level. National Talent Search Examination tests mental and scholastic aptitude of test takers.
As mentioned this exam is conducted into two stages.
•STAGE 01: is a qualifying exam conducted by respective state/union territory boards.
•STAGE 02: is the main NTSE test conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
NTSE 2019 Important dates:
Stage I (State) -
Last date for Submission of Application Form - To be notified by the respective State and it may vary from state to state.
Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands - 3rd November 2018, Saturday
Examination in All Other States and Union Territories except West Bengal - 04th November 2018, Sunday
West Bengal - 18th November 2018, Sunday
Stage II (National) -
Examination in All States and Union Territories - 12th May 2018, Sunday.
NTSE 2019 Eligibility:-
All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for Stage-I of NTSE 2015 exam conducted by State/Union Territories in which schools are located. There is no restriction on domicile.
Indian students studying abroad in class X can appear directly for Stage II of National Talent Search Examination under conditions prescribed in the NTS brochure which is available on NCERT website.
NTSE 2019 Pattern:-
The NTSE 2019 paper pattern is as follows:-
Stage I: Stage I examination conducted at the State/UT level comprises of two parts namely a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Stage II: The details of the Stage II examination conducted at the national level will be intimated in due course of time.
NTSE 2019 Reservation: 15 percent of scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5 percent of scholarships will be awarded to students belonging to ST category and 3 percent to physically challenged students.
NTSE 2019 Selection: As mentioned NTSE 2015 selection process for award of scholarships consists of two stages. Students who qualify STAGE-I of the exam conducted by States/UTs will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT.
