In India PhD admissions are conducted by various institutions and universities of higher learning, right from the hallowed IIT’s and IIM’s to various universities in India. Candidates also have the option of pursuing a Phd in India through fellowship and funding specially candidates who have appeared for the  CSIR UGC NET JRF LS Exam  for lectureship and Junior Fellowship program and CSIR UGC NET Exam that is conducted by federal institutions like Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC).

 Eligibility- A lot of factors need be considered while preparing for a PhD. The first and the most important factor is the eligibility criteria for the same. To be eligible for PhD a candidate must have obtained a master’s degree and even in some cases M. Phil from a recognized university or post graduate in the related subject. However applicants who have completed their BTech or MBBS with higher marks or equivalent grades are eligible for PhD.

Selection Criteria - According to new rule for admission for various PhD courses 2020 candidates need to clear a general ability written test in the related subject, conducted by the university. Candidates who clear this test are then called for an interview by the supervisor and guide of the particular university or institute. Students need to prepare a presentation of their research proposal both at the beginning and the end and at regular intervals.
