Job Profile - The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is a multidisciplinary organization under the aegis of the Central Government of India.  This institution conducts recruitment for various entry level to professional post for instance from clerks to probationary officer to specialist officers to Assistant Managers in various departments under grades. The Central Bank examination is conducted on all pan India basis for recruitments in the following levels

•Entry Level
•Grade 1
•Grade 2

Entry level clerical cadres starts in the cash department as examiners of coins and currency notes. They prompted to the next grade based on their performance in their written examination and whole round work experience of 5 to10 years. The All Indian examination is also conducted for Grade 1 posts. Graduates, Post Gradates, CA’s Management professionals are applicable eligible for the same. 

Job Snippets:-

•Clerks - The job nature of a clerk in RBI is much different compared to that of a normal clerk in banking concern. Her e individuals are called to perform various banking and financial functions along with clerical services. Apart from maintaining statement of accounts and cash registry th bank also maintain foreign exchange departments and planning and financial departments where there is need for clerical cadres. 

•Probationary Officers - This is an entry level position in the RBI. Candidates are selected for this post based on their performance in the written test and interview. These probationers are made to work in various departments of the bank for a period of 2 years (probation time). During probation their work is evaluated and on completion of the same they are made permanent based on performance and skill.  

•Officers - Needless to say that a role of a probationary officer in RBI is different from that of an officer in a nationalized bank. Officers working in RBI deal in monetary policies relating to various market operations and banking departments. Recruitments are done for Grade A and Grade B officers. Professional like CA and MBA are preferred for officer cadres.

•Assistant Managers - Management freshers are selected as management trainees and appointed as Assistant Managers on confirmation. Assistant Managers in Reserve Bank of India deal with various functions like corporate banking, merchant banking, forex management and retail management.

Academic Competence - Academic competences for various RBI recruitments differ in terms of capacities and educational qualification. For instance for clerical cadres candidates who completed their high school education and graduation are preferred. In the case of probationary officers, which is an entry level recruitment graduate and freshers are preferred. For the post of officers, working professionals like CA and Management degree holders are preferred while management graduates are preferred for the post of Assistant managers.  One requirement that is standard for all job profiles in the organization is that of computer application both basic and advanced level depending upon the job profile

Selection Criteria -
 the Selection for Recruitment is RBI is done through a common written test and interview. Candidate’s performance in the written test and the interview is the basis for recruitment. The selected candidates are placed in various department based on requirement.  The written test is one of the main requirements for further process of selection. The written test is an objective test where in the candidates is probed and examined in five sections  mainly 1) test of reasoning,2) test of quantitative ability, 3)test of English language, 4) test of general awareness, 5) test of computer knowledge.  Another essential point is that candidates need to fulfill various requirements as stipulated in order to be eligible for selection.

How to start it off- Eligible Candidate can apply for posts in RBI  both offline and online.  Candidates can apply online on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India. There are a specific date upto which online applications are accepted after which the link for the same is disabled. Those applying through post can do so through ordinary post. Letters for the same need to be  addressed to General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India Service Board.
